WebWeaving toys, chat-room and help links, and other fine ways to waste time on the internet.

The first toy is a marquee.
If you have Netscape, you will see a boring line of text. Ha ha!

How many morris dancers does it take to change a light bulb?

The marquee tag only works for ie explorer. To copy the html, clik "view" and "source", then print from notepad. If you have netscape and want a marquee, you have to get an animated gif. See Alchemy Mindworks.
Alchemy Mindworks has Graphics Workshop for Windows. It's awesome. Besides, it's great fun to visit.

I made this animation. Fun.

...and then I made it bigger. More fun.

Second toy: $#@*#@ blinking text.

It takes the whole team....one to hold the light bulb, and the rest to drink ale until the room spins.

This toy only blinks for netscape. (It's not blinking, is it, ie users? If you want this effect, see Alchemy Mindworks, above.)Actually one should skip the blinking text thing; people hate it.

HTML GOODIES link is at this page. See the toy that I got from them!

Panoramic Map of Grand Rapids, 1868
Ok, so it's not the Thornapple River. But some of the water came from the Thornapple!
This zoom-able map is fascinating. Find out why they named it "Canal Street"; see if you recognize any other buildings or streets. Can you find the steamboat? Do you see the rafts of logs being taken down river to the lumber factory? I can't resist, can you? Have fun....

You can add a Weather Underground banner to your website. Cool, huh?

The Ultimate Timewasters: Chat-rooms and message boards!

Quaker Message Board. I waste a lot of time reading here.
If you want to go to Yahoo chat, you can find your own way there. Count on getting private messages every five minutes from porno services. Many rude and foul-mouthed patrons. Plug your ears and hide the children.
NEW AGE CHAT-ROOM. Nice friendly people, very arcane. A small, close-knit community. Now uses a password entry, to keep harassers out. Their chat monitor is a robot program; Robo will hit on you.
TIM'S DOORS to some fairly clean chat-rooms, where html works and one can post images and colored/sized type. Great fun for creative types.
ALTAR ISLAND. A unique experience. If you misbehave in here, SOMEONE will boot you out. So be nice.
TALK CITY. The best-monitored chat-rooms on the planet. Foul-mouthed freaks and harrassers are instantly booted. Lots of advertising. Huge assortment of interest groups...genealogy, computers, you name it. This is the place to send your kids if they want to try chat.
